Calliara Blackheart shares her lineage with [[GW1: Calliara Blackheart | Calliara Blackheart]] from the original Defenders of the Blackblade. Both posses the same sense of justice, honour and loyalty to family and friends.

Having spent her formative years living in relative comfort due to the good fortune of being born into a noble family, she spent most of it with her friends pretending to be like her revered namesake. It wasn't until her teens that she enlisted with the Seraph and began her life long dream of adventure. She longed to see the distant places painted in her family's past, she wanted to see the legendary wall of Ascalon for herself.

Whilst her predecessor may have been a little more reserved, Calliara is a lot more confident in her abilities honed from her time training with the Seraph. Calliara uses protective skills to keep those close to her free from harm. She wields an Ascalonian Greatsword which glows a ghostly blue when the night sky descends on Tyria. Her current quest is to collect the necessary parts to forge the legendary greatsword Sunrise.

==History==

Calliara had a happy upbringing and spent most of her early years in Ascalon. She became interested in the ways of the warrior so that she could protect the ones she loved. Inspired by heroic tales of Knights in shining armour, she spent most of her teenage years training in the use of a Sword and Shield. Calliara's Father was a Warrior of Balthazar and her Mother a priestess of Dwayna. She progressed naturally in the arts of warfare just like her father. From her mother she gained the ability to heal and protect others.

At the time of the searing, Calliara was ordered to stay at home to protect her family. Her Mother managed to survive the ordeal however her Father died alongside many others defending Ascalon. From that day Calliara swore to protect those that she loved.

She set off on a journey that would, over the years, take her all across the lands of Tyria, Cantha and Elona. She travelled with a small party at first, [[Griphyne Of Nor]], [[Kratos Moonsilver]], [[Drinjino Everglade]], [[Twiguru Darksurge]] and [[Abadon Warcloud]]. Together they travelled under the banner of the [[Defenders of the Blackblade]].

Whilst passing the gates of Kryta, she found a small warthog by the name of [[GW:Oink|Oink]] who was being attacked by a hoarde of Undead. It was at this time that she shouted the immortal battle cry of the Defenders of the Blackblade, "For Ascalon and Oink!". It was a shout that would be used from that point on and echoed by many as a call to arms and inspiration for everyone around.

==Calliara's Blackblade==

Calliara has two Blackblades, both of these are [[GW:Shadow Blade|Shadow Blades]]. Calliara inherited her first Blackblade off her Father. Her second Blackblade was give to her by [[Darth Necrimus]] after a particularly challenging battle down in the [[gw:Tomb_of_the_Primeval_Kings | Tomb of the Primeval Kings]]. She treasures both of these blades and they hold very high sentimental value to her.

Generally Calliara is usually a happy, quiet and content person. She cherishes those who are close to her, especially her friends and family. She is willing to lay down her life to protect her party. Calliara is sometimes uncertain whether she is doing the right thing and this can lead to a lack of confidence. Although she knows deep down what she should do when it comes to certain situations, she can sometimes feel the pressure is too much which can lead to her going against her own intuition. She worries on how others percieve her. Calliara prefers to keep her emotions bottled up inside rather than let her companions get concerned with her own issues.

Calliara Blackheart was created on the day of release of Guild Wars Prophecies. Calliara comes from the a name that was mentioned in the video game, Neverwinter Nights. Blackheart was an alias that evolved whilst [[User:Blackheart | Blackheart]] was playing an online card game called Triple Triad. Blackheart has used the name or variations of it for characters in the following games: [[w:Diablo 2|Diablo 2]], [[w:Final Fantasy XI|Final Fantasy XI]], [[W:World_of_warcraft|World Of Warcraft]], [[w:Morrowind|Morrowind]] & [[W:The_Elder_Scrolls_IV:_Oblivion|Oblivion]].

Orpheus' ancestors are the infamous [[gw1:Orpheus Soulhelm|Orpheus Soulhelm]] and [[gw1:Rose Farradon|Rose Farradon]]. Having inherited the first Orpheus Soulhelm's ability to make a mess of anything he touches, Orpheus himself has become quite a nuisance to the people of Lion's Arch. Although his ancestors were both casters, Orpheus has followed the path of the warrior.

Orpheus currently wears Knights armour and trinkets. For the time being he favours a greatsword, rifle and dual axes.

He can quite often be found exploring the ancient Ascalonian Catacombs where he hopes to find out more about his family line. It was rumoured that the original Orpheus Soulhelm may have frequented the Catacombs during his duties as a Monk. He also hopes to find information regarding the location of the fabled Blackblade once kept in the original Defenders of the Blackblade Guild Hall. So far his search has been fruitless other than a scrap of paper supposedly written by a Griphyne of Nor stating that the Blackblade is behind the door.

Whilst he may not be as reliable or as skillful as some of the more established warriors in the guild, Orpheus is loyal and quick to fight for those he deems as friends.

There have been reports that he is often followed by a plush Griffon named Griphyne, this may be a reference to the Griphyne of Nor from legends past.

There have been sightings that he is often followed by a plush Griffon named Griphyne, this may be a tribute to the Griphyne of Nor from legends past.

Orpheus currently wears Knights armour and trinkets. For the time being he favours a greatsword, rifle and dual axes.

He can quite often be found exploring the ancient Ascalonian Catacombs where he hopes to find out more about his family line. It was rumoured that the original Orpheus Soulhelm may have frequented the Catacombs during his duties as a Monk. He also hopes to find information regarding the location of the fabled Blackblade once kept in the Guild Hall of the original Defenders of the Blackblade.

Whilst he may not be as reliable as some of the more established warriors in the guild, Orpheus is loyal and quick to fight for those he deems as friends.

Orpehus was raised reluctantly as a Monk at a young age. During his early years he worshipped Balthazar more and this brought out his aggresive side. He spent most of his early monk life concentrating on learning the art of Smiting.

As the years passed he calmed down and his knowledge and expertise of healing and protection techniques blossomed. He became something of a child prodigy. However his meeting with a young [[Griphyne Of Nor]] proved to be his undoing as he slowly became influenced by his new friend. Together they would come up with mischievous plans to bunk off their studies at Serenity Temple. Griphyne was slightly older and had more knowledge and due to this Orpheus looked up to him as a role model. This brief moment of new found freedom and rebellion only lasted a few months...

Seeing their son's lack of progress, Orpheus' parents sent him away to Kryta to be study in Lion's Arch. Even without his partner in crime, Orpheus had trouble concentrating. Needless to say Orpheus was kicked out of his studies for an incident involving a frog, a mushroom and the daughter of a wealthy local merchant. His family had always looked down on him since that period of his life and it was his Sister, [[Katalina Soulhelm]] who became the pride and joy of the family from that point on.

Many years later Orpheus Soulhelm met a fully fledged Griphyne of Nor in Droknars Forge. Nothing had changed since their early days at the temple... they were still as clueless as ever. Orpheus joined Griphyne in the guild, the [[Defenders of the Blackblade]] and together they fail to keep their parties alive to this day.

He spends a lot time with [[Griphyne Of Nor]] trying out silly and often insane ideas in order to get rich quick (this has resulted in failure everytime). Orpheus will quite often let the other monk do all of the work prefering to use the time to relax instead (a special trait he learnt off of Griphyne). Orpheus started out life as a farming character but has since enjoyed the luxury of doing nothing very important. Has been known to be spiteful and not heal someone if they're annoying him or have said "I don't need your healing" (see [[Zeyal Melso]]).
